Senegal – country of baobabs and Derby elands
( the lecture will be in English)
West African Senegal is full of colors and scents. It is also home to the Derby eland, the largest antelope but also critically endangered. And thanks to the persistent efforts of the Czech team, its population bred in semi-captivity is growing. Come to feel the atmosphere of Senegal and the flavor of working mostly in a feminine collective in a country, where a man can have up to 4 wives. Senegal will be presented by Karolina Brandlová, head of the Department of Animal Science and Food Processing of the FTA at CULS in Prague, and chairwoman of the NGO Derbianus Conservation, who has been working in Senegal for 12 years.
